The Health professions council of Zambia is a statutory
regulatory body under the ministry with both statutory obligations to regulate
of health care facilities and health practitioners as well as maintaining
optimal standards of competence, care and professions conduct. It was established
under the health professions Act No. 24 of 2009. The health profession Act
continues the existence of the health professions council of Zambia is to
safeguard the quality of health care service by regulating and monitoring the
professional conduct of public and private health practitioners, health
facilities and Training Institutions. The council seeks applications from
suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill up the following positions.
Job Purpose:
To co-ordinate effectively the Operations of the Region Hub
by ensuring that health practitioners, health facilities and training
Institutions comply with the set standards
Main Duties:
. Manages effectively the inspections of health facilities,
in order to ensure compliance to set standard
. Manages effectively the inspection of the practice and
conduct of health practitioner in order to ensure adherence;
. Manages effectively monitoring and evaluation of
inspections programmes in order to facilitate the identification and
implementation of appropriate interventions;
. Manages effectively the processing of approval for training
programmes and continuing professional Development (CPD) centers in order to
ensure compliance to set standards
. Manages effectively the preparation of documentation in
order to facilitate the issuance of certificates
. Co-ordinates effectively the preparation of documentation
in order to ensure the competence of practitioners
. Manages effectively liaison and communication with provincial
medical Offices and other institutions in order to keep a record of person’s
statutory requirements
. Co-ordinates effectively the issuance of annual practicing
certificates to health practitioners Register in order to certify practitioners
who meet statutory requirements
. Ensures frequently and effectively liaison and
communication with provincial Medical Offices and other institutions in order
to exchange information relating to health practitioners status
. Ensures the preparation of inspections, training and registration
reports in order to facilitate decision making
. Ensures effectively the maintenance of up-to-date records
on inspections training and registration in order to facilitate the storage and
retrieval of information;
. Manages effectively the implementation of the performance management
systems in order to facilitate attainment of regional objectives
. Manages effectively human, financial and other logistical
resources in regional objectives; and
. Manages effectively the monitoring and evaluation of
inspections, training and registration programmes in order to facilitate the
identification and implementation of appropriate interventions
. Reporting directly to the CEO (Registrar)
. Full grade twelve (12) form five (5) Certificate
. Bachelor of Arts in Social Science/Bachelor of Science
degree in Health related Sciences
. Master of Arts in Social Science/Bachelor of Science in
Health related and or Health education will be an added advantage
. HPCZ full Registration certificate for health related
qualification
. HPCZ Valid practicing Certificate for Health related
qualification
. Minimum of 8 years’ work experience and of five (05) years
should be at senior Management level in a reputable Organization and public
Institutions experience will be an added advantage
. Computer literate and knowledgeable of most used package
. Goal-oriented and able to work independently to achieve
results, as well as to collaborate with a diverse team.
. Excellent English Language oral and written communication
skills.
. Able to write analytical and technical report
. Knowledge of most used computer packages.
