The Development Bank of Zambia (DBZ) is
a development finance institution that influences the environment for access to
finance for development by offering innovative, tailor made financing
solutions, advisory services and technical support to viable local enterprises.
The Bank is looking for suitably
qualified persons to apply for the following position:

JOB SUMMARY
To evaluate and analyze the banks
projects, post bank assistance in order to determine the impact of the
projects on the country’s economic growth and employment creation. Site
visits of the projects are to
be conducted, to evaluate whether project implementation was carried out
as per the loan agreement and implementation schedule agreed upon with the
Bank. Collect and compile data for economic research purposes required to guide
the Bank in which sectors of the economy target in order to achieve
projected economic growth as per the Governments National Development
Plan.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
§Post Evaluation
§Undertake Post Evaluation Exercises on closed Bank Projects
using a data capturing instrument
(questionnaire) with measurable performance indicators to assess the impact of
past bank
investments;
§Carry out project site visits as part of the post evaluation
process to assess the impact of the
assistance received from the bank;
§Carry out Interviews with project promoters and internal
Bank officers involved in the credit process;
§Prepare a Post Evaluation Reportwth lessons learnt and recommendation.
Economic Research
§Data mine, collect, compile and prepare research reports on
sectors in the economy aligned to the
Governments National Development Plan and the Bank’s Strategic Business Plan.
§Conduct qualitative and quantitative research as per the
research agenda;
§Compile monthly economic bulleüns with economic market
information covering issues directly
affect the bank to aid business decision making;
§Identify business/economic opportunities within the market
for potential investment and recognize opportunities for synergies and linkages
with other financial and development institutions;
§Perform any other function as directed by the Head of
Departrnent.
Education, Experience and
Qualificati0ns:
§Must possess an Economics Degree or Business Administration
Degree
§1 (one) year experience in the field of economics with a
correlation to financial economic analysis.
§Must have an understanding of project appraisal and
evaluation, including the financial credit process
§Exposure to economic research methodologies necessary to
conduct research
Skills and Specifications
§Must possess high level of accuracy in data collection and
reporting
§Timely report submission
§Must be analytical with an ability to organize data in an
orderly manner
§Must have strong attention to detail
§Good time keeping
§Ability to capture and record critical information in the
market affecting the Bank and economy
§Team player
§Should have good interpersonal skills
