The Catholic Agency for Overseas Development (CAFOD), one of
the UK’s leading international aid agencies, is currently looking for a
Programme Officer – Livelihoods and Nutrition for the Zambia office. The
Programme Officer role will be vital in contributing to the Resilience
Livelihoods and Economic Empowerment programme of CAFOD in Zambia and
strengthening relationships with key stakeholders and partners.
Job Profile
As part of a small Zambian team, the Programme Officer will
work closely with the Country Representative to deliver CAFOD’s strategies and
plans of the Country Strategic Plan (CSP) in Zambia in line with the
partnership approach of CAFOD.
Your role
The Programme Officer will support the delivery of key
programme sectors in Zambia as defined in the CSP/RSP, particularly those that
relate to livelihoods and nutrition aspects. The post holder will also play a
key role in supporting relationships with partners and stakeholders in Zambia.
The post holder will contribute to the financial accountability of the Zambia
programme and will also be responsible for carrying out appraisals, monitoring
and reviews of CAFOD-funded projects and programmes. Where applicable the
post-holder will also conceptualize and develop applications for institutional
donor funding for partners and will also be responsible for reporting with
external donors.
Your profile
The post holder should have knowledge and experience of
working on livelihoods and nutrition aspects in Zambia with experience of using
programme cycle management tools. The post holder should demonstrate sound
problem analysis, judgement and decision-making abilities and should have
budget development and monitoring skills. A commitment to working in
partnership and to building the capacity of local partners is a must.
The post holder should have a Bachelor degree in
Agriculture, Nutrition, Development or relevant discipline.
For this post, you must be willing to travel frequently and
sometimes at short notice and you must have the right to work in Zambia.
