of the world’s leading copper producers with a geographically diversified
portfolio of high-quality operations and development projects in eight
countries across five continents.
With a strategic plan to produce
more than 1 million tonnes per annum of copper within five years, the Company

of the top five copper producers in the world.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Adhere to all relevant
requirements, policies, procedures and legal regulations pertaining to health,
safety, environment and quality, and any other regulations as required by the
company and relevant to the level of the role and responsibilities of the
function
§
Ensure safety procedures are
followed at all times, doing a Risk Assessment and Hazard Identification prior
to any task to eliminate any possibility of an accident or injury
§
Ensure that the target milling
rates are met or exceeded on all three circuits (daily, weekly and monthly)
§
Participate directly in the daily
work activities of the milling plant, serving as technical support to
operations personnel’s to enhance performance
§
Track and report milling plant
performances
§
Identify bottle necks within
milling plant and determine optimal operating condition/ parameters
§
Develop long team continuous
improvement projects within the milling circuits
§
Conduct daily inspections of
milling circuits weight meters and two weekly mill feed weight meter
calibration (to be done with Met-Account Mets)
§
Carry out belt cuts of mill feed
and recycle stream for physical PSD analysis,
§
Calibrate milling circuits lynx
cameras (for online particle size monitoring) and track their performance
§
Prepare and analyze milling
circuit downtime Pateros on weekly and monthly basis
§
Maintain grinding media charge
level within set targets (regular ball load measurements)
§
Monitor grinding media
consumption rate for each mill and advise operations on new ball charge regime.
§
Ensure mills are charged with
correct ball size and quantity on daily basis
§
Carry out quality checks of
grinding media when required
§
Oversee the operation the
grinding media sorting plant and ensure maximum recycle grinding media recovery
§
Conduct and send out milling
circuits daily Met checks (morning and afternoon)
§
Track ore type (mine blend plan)
with mill performance
§
Compile and send-out weekly
report on all major highlights around milling circuits to the Senior and Lead
metallurgists
§
Perform any other duties as
assigned by either the Lead or Senior Metallurgist
REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILL
§
Minimum of a Bachelor of
Engineering in Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering
§
Strong people management skills
and demonstrated experience on managing employees
EXPERIENCE
§
Minimum of two years’ comminution
experience, with extensive experience on mill operation
