Freshwater, Wildlife, Forests and People. WWF Zambia is seeking to hire a
highly motivated and experienced individual for the position of Accountant.
ACCOUNTANT
Provides
active, efficient and personalised accounting services support to
implementation of WWF ZCO conservation projects and programmes.
Duties and Responsibilities:
§
Timely
& Accurate entries of data in the Accounting system/ General Ledger
integrity (Budget/Forecasts, Income, Journals, Payments etc.)
§
Timely
& Accurate monthly analysis on Accounts payables, Accounts receivables,
Income.
§
Ensures
implementation of sound financial and accounting controls.
§
Works
closely with Project Managers and Sub-grantee F&A staff to ensure timely
submission of monthly accounts to the Lusaka office for consolidations and
preparation of donor reports.
§
As
Oracle user ensure that all journals and payments, including income are
captured on timely manner for review by the supervisor.
§
Reviews
and analyses the imprest retirements from the projects and make necessary
adjustments before inputting to Oracle
§
Preparing
timely monthly financial reports for the Finance Manager and project Managers
§
Provide
regular analysis on funds transferred to projects from Lusaka office.
§
Prepares
timely and accurate cost recovery from projects. This should be implemented in
accordance with the WWF Network Cost Recovery Standards.
Required qualifications:
§
A
university degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration or
related field; OR
§
Full
accounting qualification i.e. CPA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
§
Over
5 years working experience preferably in a major international
organisation/NGO.
§
Demonstrable
skills in the development and implementation of finance and accounting
policies, procedures and systems in the context of an international NGO.
§
Good
knowledge of project fund accounting including reporting requirements of major
bi-lateral Aid Agencies.
§
Hands-on
knowledge of Oracle accounting software would be an advantage.
