Chief Financial
Officer
This role reports directly to the chief Executive Officer.
The ideal candidates will be responsible for directing and controlling the
Bank’s financial planning, financial management, financial accounting and board
reporting functions, ensuring that value added and professional financial
management and accounting policies, practices systems and solutions are
developed, Implemented and controlled in support of strategic objective and in
compliance with International financial Accounting and Reporting Standards and
statutory regulations.
Key Performance Areas
(KPAs)
. Oversees, Manages and controls the bank’s financial
planning process (in Partnership with executive stakeholders) to ensure maximum
profitability, tax efficiency, effective cost management and adequate cash flow
in line with strategic business objectives.
. Collates, consolidates, prepares and controls annual
budgets, revised estimates and rolling financial forecasts for the Bank and its
cycle and economic trends.
. Applies financial modelling in a predictive manner and
shapes capacity by forecasting “What if†scenarios and financial options based
on changing variables.
. Prepares and presents an integrated, holistic and
consolidated financial report for the Bank at Board level on a monthly,
quarterly, half yearly and annual basis.
. Identifies and Interprets patterns and comparative trends
in financial reports to identify critical risks, gaps and interdependencies
across the business enterprise.
. Ensure that the cash flow is effectively managed.
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE
AND SKILLS
. Seven years’ senior level management experience in banking
preferably with five years’ work experience in finance
. Knowledge of business and administration procedures,
taxation rules and regulations.
. Recognized expert professional knowledge of IAS and IFRS.
. Expert knowledge and understanding of consolidated
budgeting principles, processes and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
. Five O’ levels with credits (or better) in English and
mathematics.
. Degree in financial discipline / Commerce or full ZICA /
ACCA / CIMA qualification
. A relevant post Graduate qualification will be an added
advantage
. Directs and drives the timely management, control and submission of all statutory returns/ reports, including the relevant VAT and income Tax returns and levies. Report on the asset quality of the loan portfolio, Including delinquencies, nonaccruals, loan concentrations and profitability analyses. . Controls and consolidates Cavmont Bank’s Annual financial statements for publication
. Manages the collation, processing, interpretation and
control of management accounts for the business
. This includes the provision of financial/ quantitative
data, as well as non-financial information, to enable effective scorekeeping,
cost control, planning, pricing and management decision-making collection and
management of all collection efforts, including bankruptcy management
foreclosures and repossessions.
. Identifies and analyses industry trends regarding
operating cost structures and cost efficiencies/ economies of scale and
translates this knowledge into appropriate best practices for implementation in
the business.
. Formulates policies and defines and sets standards for
best accounting practice to ensure the efficient and effective management and
implementation of accounting processes and controls
. Excellent conceptual working Knowledge of the end-to-end financial
planning, management accounting, cost accounting and financial reporting
processes and systems
. Conceptual and solid understanding of the financial
services business, industry trends and the extent to which external activities have
an impact on the organization.
. Advanced knowledge of Excel spreadsheets and relevant
accounting systems functionality
