Lubambe
Copper Mine is located within the Greater Konkola Area of the Zambian
Copperbelt and consists of a large — scale mining license covering an area of
approximately 240 square kilometers. The mine is a modern, world class facility
with fully mechanized underground operations.
Lubambe
Copper Mines is owned by EMR Capital of Australia (80%) and ZCCM — Investments
Holdings (20%). The Mine is currently in a ramp up stage and will
ultimately produce 45, 000 tonnes of contained copper and will employ
approximately 1,500 people. The Plant infrastructure consists of a Concentrator
plant, a laboratory and underground infrastructure. The Concentrator
incorporates crushing, milling, flotation and filtration. The design capacity
is 2.5 MTPA of ore at an average mill grade of 2.3% copper, yielding 45,000
tonnes of contained copper in concentrate to be sold to smelter in Zambia.
To
support this vision, Lubambe Copper Mine seeks to employ experienced and
qualified individuals in the following position:
DEWATERING
FOREMAN – 2 POSITIONS
This
position reports to the Section Engineer – Pumping.
Purpose
of the Position:
To
ensure that equipment maintenance is carried out in line with the mine
standards through effective supervision and coaching of artisans.
Key
Performance Areas Indicators (KPA/ls):
§
Provide
leadership and direction to safely achieve production targets in accordance
with mine approved operating and environmental procedures and plans.
§
Maintenance/repair
of respective pieces of equipment.
§
Ensures
that all equipment and facilities needed by the artisans and his maintenance
team to enable them work effectively are available and in good condition.
§
Ensures
that all individuals under his control carry out their duties diligently for
successful completion and with less wastage.
§
Conducts
investigations into major equipment failure to determine and report on the
principal causes of failures and areas of non-compliance and to ensure
implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
§
Conducts
periodic equipment audits and recommends remedial measures where necessary to
ensure equipment is always in good condition.
§
Assists
in creating work schedules and assigns appropriate tasks to his subordinates in
accordance with their skills and special station.
§
Determine
the knowledge gap of his subordinates through appraisals and recommend
necessary training where needed.
§
Develops
and monitors the Personal Development Plan for his subordinates (PDP).
Qualifications
and Experience
§
Advanced/Craft
Certificate in Mechanical Engineering from recognized institution
§
Minimum
5 Years’ experience in Mining Industry
§
Must
be a member of EIZ I ERB
§
Possess
strong communication and interpersonal skills
§
Strong
planning and analytical skills.
§
