FHI360 is the leading partner of the USAID TB (CTB) project Zambia,
the USAID funded global program to decrease TB mortality and morbidity in high burden
countries. KNCV leads an international consortium with eight partner
organizations. The overarching strategic objectives of challenge TB are to
improve access to quality patient centered care TB, TB/HIV and MDR-TB services;
to prevent transmission and disease progression; and to strengthen TB
platforms at national level and six
provinces of center, copperbelt, Luapula, muchinga , Northern and North-western
province. The three- year project will support the Zambian government to reduce
TB-related mortality by 50 percent in the intervention province. The three-year
project will support the Zambian through the challenge TB (CTB), is inviting applications
from interested person who meet the minimum requirements to fill the following position:
MDR-TB Coordinator – 1 position
Location: Lusaka
Reports: National
TB Program (NTP)
Basic Faction:
Under the supervision of the national TB program Manager and
in collaboration with the Director, Challenge TB, the MDR-TB Coordinate will
organize MDR-TB related actives for the NTP. The MDR-TB coordinator will be
involved in the implementation of technical stregies, programs and activities in
the area of programmatic management of MDR-TB specifically and drug resistant
TB in general. This will include the decentralization process of MDR-TB in Zambia.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
. Expected to work with the NTP and stakeholders to build
capacity at country-level, provincial and facility level staff.
. She/he will coordinate activities of clinical expert
committees, MDR-TB treatment sites, MDR-TB diagnostics and M&E service in
collaboration with relevant CTB and NTP staff.
. The MDR-TB coordinator will stay current on evolving
technical standards, guideline, and program developments in the area of
multidrug resistant TB
Minimum Qualification
. Diploma in Health Sciences or related field from a recognized
University or college
. Minimum of 10 years’ experience in TB Control in a similar
position
. Ability to represent
CTB project to donors, government officials and the NGO community in TB Control
matters
. Proven ability to work with other and with partners and
can develop and maintain compatibility among facility level
. Well-develop computer, written and oral communication skills
. Anticipated field travel of at least 10 present
