- Lead participatory natural resource mapping and forest
inventory in conjunction with the community
- Select and train farmers and community forest
mappers in Katanino
- Delivering Agroforestry training among the local
community in Katanino
- Help in the establishment of indigenous tree nurseries
- Spearhead and assist with forestry activities such as
mounting beehive and tree planting
- Communicate directly with the Project Manager and
Project Manager amongst others regarding project activities.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Education: A minimum of Diploma in Forestry or
equivalent
- Language: Fluent in English (both speaking and writing)
and Bemba/Lamba
- Work experience: Preferably 2 years’ relevant work
experience in the forestry sector
- Skills: Excellent coordination, training and
communication skills
- Extensive knowledge of indigenous miombo vegetation,
GIS, Beekeeping and Assisted Natural Regeneration
- Knowledge of mushroom harvesting, agro-forestry and
nursery management
- Strong and comfortable working in the field with the
local community
- Be willing to relocate and live in Katanino, Masaiti
District.
CONDITIONS
- Full-time, up to a maximum of 44 hours per week.
Working Monday through Saturday morning, hours will vary depending on
project needs and flexibility is essential.
- Employee contract of 1year can be signed with a
probation period of 3 months, starting as soon as possible but
realistically around Mid June.
- Based close to Katanino forest reserve, where the
Project office is being established
