QUALIFICATIONS
AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum
Required Qualifications and Experience:

Grade
12
§
Basic
counselling qualification Diploma in Pharmacy
§
1 years’
experience in counselling
§
Registration
with the Health Professions Council of Zambia
§
Previous
public sector experience preferably within HIV field
Desirable
Qualifications and Experience:

Matric
/ Grade 12

Basic
counselling qualification
§
2 years’
experience in counselling
§
Knowledge
of the Zambian public healthcare sector

KEY
PERFORMANCE AREAS

Providing
pre- and post counselling
§
Conducting
health education to HIVAIDSTB patients

Counselling

Assist
patients in making informed decisions

Reassuring
patients about the confidentiality when doing pre-and post counselling
§
Built
up rapport between patient and workplace
§
Detect
and report barriers to adherence
§
Liaise
between patient in the community / work place and a health facility for
entering to care
§
Presenting
reports to multidisciplinary team for inputs
§
Entering
into the daily register each patient counselled or educated i. e. their age,
gender etc.
§
Compile
and store regular reports relating to RTC – supported HIV service as required
by RTC management
