VACANCY: Financial Reporting Manager
LEVEL: Senior Manager
LOCATION: Lusaka
JOB PURPOSE
To comply with statutory
requirements of reporting financial performance of Airtel Networks Zambia under
IFRS. The role holder also responsible for reviewing the trail balance, balance
sheet of the company and auditing of accounts by internal and external
auditors.
REPORTING TO THE FINACIAL
CONTROLLER, THE ROLE WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
Management of Input and Output
SLAs for Financial Reporting between Airtel Networks Zambia and ACE:
§
Ensure alignment of all Business
Units in Airtel Network Zambia with the SLAs signed with ACE – Hold frequent
review meetings with Business Units to align them with SLA deliverables
§
Ensure timely submission of all
Inputs to ACE in line with agreed SLAs
§
Ensure timely review and validation
of all inputs submitted to ACE
§
Ensure timely review and
validation of all Outputs from ACE for confirmation of accuracy and
completeness of outputs and as per inputs submitted.
§
Timely closure of all identified
issues that arise in the monthly book closure process
Accounting
§
Ensure accuracy of all
transactions posted in the GL
§
Ensure all transactions posted to
the GL have valid verifiable back up that must be retained for Internal and
External Audits
§
Ensure all transactions posted in
the GL are in line with applicable company accounting guidelines and relevant
IFRS
Review and Analysis of Monthly
Financial Statements
§
Analytical review of Revenue in
line with Key business revenue drivers
§
Ensure justification of all
operating expenditure lines with valid back up for all movements that occur
monthly
§
Review and analysis of all
balance sheet accounts before closure of monthly financial statements.
Balance Sheet Health
(Reconciliations)
§
Ensure all critical balance sheet
reconciliations are completed as per guidelines
§
Ensure all other balance sheet
reconciliations are completed monthly
§
Ensure follow up and closure of
matters arising from balance sheet reconciliations
§
Ensure evidence of balance sheet
reconciliation is available at all time for review
§
Maintain a register of key
matters arising from balance sheet reconciliations with relevant action plans
and closure dates as part of monthly governance process
Operations
§
Ensure end to end management of
Vendor Payment Cycle
§
Ensure end to end management of
the channel accounting cycle
§
Ensure end to end management of
the Roaming and Interconnection functions
§
Ensure end to end management of
the Fixed Assets Accounting Function.
Governance
§
Ensure monthly balance
confirmation sign off for all Intercompany Accounts
§
Ensure Quarterly Balance confirmation
from banks for bank balances and loans where applicable.
§
Ensure all accounting
transactions are authorized as per FDOA
§
Ensure monthly sign off of all
reconciliations and retention of all relevant accounting evidence
§
Ensure monthly submission of
Group Accounting Guideline and Desk Top Review Schedules as per monthly
reporting calendar.
REQUIRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
Educational Qualifications &
Functional / Technical Skills
§
Chartered Accountant/Certified
Public Accountant & IFRS Expert Knowledge
§
Seasoned Accountant
Relevant Experience (Type of
experience and minimum number of years)
§
6 to 8 years
§
Knowledge of the latest
accounting tools / Software available for reporting
§
Knowledge of changes in the
Accounting Standards applied under IFRS
§
Exposure to an ERP environment
§
Preferred background being
telecom / service industry
