Lubambe copper mine is located within the Greater konkola
Area of the Zambia Copperbelt and consists of a large _ scale mining license
covering an area of approximately 240 square kilometers. The mine is a modern,
World class facility with fully mechanized underground operations.
Lubambe Copper Mine is owned by EMR Capital of Australia
(80%) and ZCCM _ Investments Holdings (20%).
The mine is currently in a ramp up will produce 45,000
tonnes of contained copper and will employ approximately 1,500 people. The
plant infrastructure consist of a Concentrator plant, a laboratory and
underground infrastructure. The Concentrator incorporates crushing, milling, floatation
and filtration. The design capacity is 2.5 MTPA of ore at an average mill grade
of 2.3% copper, yielding 45,000 tonnes of contained copper in concentrate to be
sold to smelters in Zambia.
Lubambe Copper Mine Limited requires the services of
qualified and motivated persons to fill the following positions in the finance
and Administration Department
Supply Chain Analyst
and Relationship Officer
The Positions will report to the Supply Chain Manger
Role Overview:
The Supply Chain
Analyst and Relation Officer’s goal, will be to help the supply chain run
smoothly and profitably as possible. This role gathers data and conducts
analysis and reporting of key metrics and market related costing with the goal
of improving the organization’s supply chain operations. Identifies underperforming
areas in the supply chain and may suggest improvements or solutions to problem.
Accountabilities:
1. Collecting and
analyzing supply chain data
. Extract and analyze system data (with Excel, Access, and
DELTA) in order to identify and recommend improvements to supply chain metrics
and performance standards using research, supplier relationships, industry
knowledge and best practices in order to secure benefits for the Company, suppliers
and/ or Customers (e.g. cost saving, new technologies and innovations,
operating efficiencies).
. Manage the cost effectiveness of the supply chain
. Create processes and methods to gather supply Chain data
. Analyze data to identify problematic areas and suggest improvements
2. Develop a long term strategic plan to turn the Supply
Chain department into a profit center
3. Forecasting
4. Recommending improvements to boost performance and reduce
costs
5. Coordinating with other professionals to implement
changes and new systems
6. Develop. Implement, track, and improve key performance metrics
consistent with business objective
Qualifications and
Skills
. BSc//BA in Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics,
Mathematics or a related field.
. Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Supply Chain Analyst and
experience in the Mining industry is an advantage
. Familiarity with supply chain processes (e.g. inventory
planning, warehouse management)
. Working Knowledge of MS Office, relation databases and ERP
systems (e.g. DELTA, SAP, SAGE, PRONTO)
. Analytical and problem solving skills
. Extremely strong report writing and charting skills
. Member of ZIPS
